Success Stories: Jimmy
“We were surprised that the initial appointment was so
lengthy. And that Dr. Reichenberg-Ullman had actually worked with
other children like Jimmy. She suggested that a diagnosis of Semantic
Pragmatic Disorder might fit him better than Asperger Syndrome.
When I looked it up on the web, it seemed very accurate for him.
The fact that she seemed to have quite a bit of experience with
kids like Jimmy was comforting. Jimmy was actually looking forward
to meeting the doctor. His brother, also diagnosed with AS, had
done so well under her care that Jimmy asked to see her, too. He
told me he ‘wanted to get going’ himself.
I had resisted the idea of homeopathy. With two kids who had
struggled with the condition for years, I knew (or thought) there
were no quick cures. But, as a Special Education teacher myself,
I met a mother whose son had made considerable progress by going
to Dr. Reichenberg-Ullman. When I was ready (desperate), I took
one of my sons to see her. I was a little ashamed to be going in
for one of those ‘last hope’ treatments. Then I read
one of their books and could hardly wait to get started.
Jimmy is very different than when we first took him to Dr.
Reichenberg-Ullman. He was so depressed that we wondered about putting
him on antidepressants. This year everyone around him comments on
how much happier and outgoing he is with other children and adults.
It is fascinating, because he continues to improve even more. Jimmy
is much more focused, cares about getting his schoolwork done for
the first time, is much more even-tempered, and is able to respond
when we ask him to do chores. He even often, though not always,
keeps his room clean. Jimmy is very involved in sports and doing
well in them. An active Boy Scout, he is quite popular in the troop.
Jimmy is quite the normal kid. Our son is also concerned with doing
the right thing, and will stick his neck out with the other kids
more than before. I especially like that he has more of a sense
of humor. The boy just seems more relaxed.
I do believe that this treatment will be the means to my two
sons living successful, independent lives. Their progress has motivated
me to have treatment myself. I have also found it to be very helpful.
I didn’t realize how much time I spent being depressed and
angry until I wasn’t anymore. Homeopathy for me has helped
me to appreciate the continued improvements in the boys as well
as to find my own healing. It is hard to believe that a ten-dollar
medicine could make such a positive difference months and months
after taking it. I think we are all more hopeful. We were so impressed
that our whole family is now being treated with homeopathy.
I know the whole process can seem expensive, but nothing we
have ever done has been so worthwhile for our kids. While we took
our second son to speech therapy for years, he was actually able
to finally speak intelligibly once he received a homeopathic remedy.
But, it doesn’t necessarily happen quickly. It took our second
son several visits to find the right remedy, but this has been a
life-changing experience for all of us. We have healing that we
have never had before. We also have hope for the future.
“I understand that it doesn’t work for everyone,
but it has been very successful for us. As a special education teacher,
my dream would be for all of my children with Asperger’s to
have the option of homeopathic treatment. I think the results would
be phenomenal.”
